| All LEAD teens are asked to develop a life assignment, which is a long-term goal in which teens, in some way, work to create positive world change. The teens work with LEAD staff, volunteers and community mentors to work towards achieving their life assignments.
Some life assignments are:
- Work with young people when I’m older
 as an outdoor instructor
- Study my ancestry to learn about my Native American heritage.
- Promote bicycle commuting.
- End oppression of all kinds.
- Assist in the development & continuation of LEAD.
- Further my religious development
- Encourage bike transportation for bike able distances
- Be known as an important awesome person.
- Lower corporate power by giving an easy reasonable web site solution.
- Become a peaceful police officer so that I can benefit the community and make the world a more just place
- Start a Teen Center in Lane County
